I’m a professional Artist from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

I studied a B.A Hons in Design at the University of Ulster, Belfast, graduating in 1995.

Coming from a Design background my paintings are quite graphic in style. I’ve simplified the human form and the faces of my characters. Each painting has similarities, such as the eyes, lips, nose and flowing hair. This makes my style recognisable.

I love colour in my work and like to pack in as much colour as I as can. I feel that the colour gives the painting its vibrancy and energy. a lot of the paintings have a story element to them. I like the interaction between different characters.

I work mostly in Acrylics and spray paint. I also like to incorporate vintage magazines, books and comics into the backgrounds to add extra depth and interest. I paint mostly on canvas, but over the years I have worked on everything from scooters, skateboards, walls, clothing, boots, guitars, doors, metal signs etc. I love the challenge different surfaces bring to my work and because of the stylised nature of my art I think it can work on multiple media. I love Graffiti and Street Art and over the last few years have been incorporating these elements into my paintings with the use of spray paint and paint markers.

Aside from my usual style I work on multilayer stencil paintings using spray paint to create bright, bold art on canvas, metal signs and even furniture.

The inspiration for my paintings come from the diversity of everyday life. Love, happiness, sadness. Have a passion for music and film and this is reflected in my work.
